Thanks to the lovely Captain Christian and our friend Geoff Byrne our logo is finalized! With a few different options to choose from, this will be our most used. Thanks Geoff for all the help.
Weekend sail to China Camp
This past weekend was the 40th annual Cleat Cruise. The destination has not always been China Camp, but has been for the past many years. After a day sail from Richardson Bay, or other Bay Area ports, many drop the hook for the day and night and some for the whole weekend. During the Saturday evening BBQ and potluck the “cleat” gets passed to the next person. The winner is picked by a drawing and given a plaque to keep for the next year. It is that person’s responsibility to organizing the next year’s Cleat Cruise.
Christian was the “cleat holder” about 7 years ago. What a fantastic way to get the local sailing community together for the weekend.
Do table manners exist on a boat?
Taj doesn’t quite get table manners yet… But how much do we really mind our manners on our boat anyway?! Actually , for the most part we are pretty good about it while at port. Underway, our laps become our tables and frankly we eat when we can and snack often to avoid sea sickness. Taj still has some time to learn that sitting on the table is not cool. So in the mean time, you can all get a glimpse of what eating looks like aboard Shawnigan and hopefully have a little laugh.
